For the past three years in June, The Harbour has hosted some of Nova Scotia’s best and brightest entrepreneurs, sports heroes, artists and rising stars for the Nova Scotia Stars Event.
This event is unique in the region - a celebration of achieving success in spite of adversity, as well as rising to, and ultimately overcoming, challenges.
Many of these adults tell stories of becoming successful despite seemingly insurmountable odds, and their histories often reflect those of The Harbour’s clients. Nova Scotia Stars gives these young people a glimpse of what’s possible with hard work and the right attitude, and inspires hope and new outlooks.
In only 3 years, this event has raised over $100,000, allowing The Harbour to maintain and improve the incredible programs and services for the local youth who come to us for help.
However, Nova Scotia Stars goes much deeper than the dollars raised. It’s allowed us to build enduring relationships with new sponsors and volunteers, and many of our past speakers have become prominent and influential advocates for Halifax youth.
